Gardeners increase the Arizona cypress, or Cupressus arizonica, for its blue green foliage and bark that is handsome. Growing up to 25 feet broad and 40-feet tall, tree farms increase the Arizona cypress for christmas-trees and a few builders use the wood as fence-posts. It grows in a lot of western United States and the southern, and will be grown throughout the majority of California, in accordance with the University of Florida Institute of Agricultural and Food Sciences. Cones increase on the branches, each containing 50 to more than 110 1 10 seeds. The seeds require a period, called stratification that is cool, to germinate.
Collect the dark-brown cones from a Arizona cypress tree in late spring. Cut the stem to eliminate it in the tree branch of a cone.
Boil the cones in water for 30 to 60 seconds to pressure them to open. Alternatively, enable the cones to dry in the sunshine to force them open.
Remove the seeds in the cones that are open and place them in a bowl or tray that is shallow.
Soak the seeds in luke warm water for 24 to 36 hrs. This softens and moistens the seed coat.
Put the seeds. Seal the bag and place it in the freezer at three to five degrees Fahrenheit. Remove the seeds.
A seed- starting with seed- . In early spring, sow the Arizona cypress seeds, one on the the top of blend, per tray mobile.
Put the seeds in a vibrant place; the seeds require a temperature of approximately 72 degrees as well as light to germinate.
Water as required to keep the seeds moist.
